Its auto attendant answers up to four calls simultaneously, greets the callers with a recorded announcement and connects them with the desired extension or the switchboard operator. The music and information on-hold function sets in during a call transfer initiated either by GENIUS or the operator. A user's individual messages, recorded via the handset, blend softly into the music (two track technology and music and messages can be updated separately) After business hours, GENIUS can act as an answering machine (outgoing messages only).

The Phonemaster ATD39R employs advanced digital audio technology to provide high quality voice announcing on up to three telephone lines. The Phonemaster ATD39R can be equipped with one, five, nine or 13 minutes of voice memory, and can store as many as nine different outgoing announcements. A common announcement can be presented on all three lines, or the system can play a different announcement on each line (or pair of lines). When a common announcement is used for all three lines, the Phonemaster ATD39R's programmable auto-timer can automatically switch announcements throughout the day, week or during holidays.
