Racal Acoustics Ltd was formed in 1978, when SG Brown Ltd was merged with Amplivox Ltd. The merger added complementary expertise in hearing protection, Electro-acoustics and industrial communications. Racal Acoustics became Racals "centre of excellence" in specialised telephony and audio engineering.
The company is now located in Harrow, Middlesex, England, and employs a workforce of approximately 350 personnel.
Racal Acoustics is a recognised authority on the design and manufacture of sophisticated audio communications equipment for both military and commercial markets. The product portfolio is diverse, and includes specialised weatherproof and vandal resistant telephones as well as a range of ultra-lightweight headsets and ancillary amplifiers commonly used by telephone operators.
