The Sharp Corporation is a progressive, innovative company manufacturing a wide variety of high quality electronics products. Formed in 1915, it now has over 60 sales subsidiaries, manufacturing bases and research and development bases in 34 countries worldwide, and employs around 64,000 people. Sharp (UK) Ltd was established in 1969. It has grown from a simple distribution network to a major headquarters and home of sales, marketing, administration and technical support teams. Sharp also has a purpose built manufacturing plant in Wrexham, the European Research and Development Centre in Oxford, a sales office and showrooms in Watford and prestigious showrooms and conference facilities in London's West End. Around 1800 people are employed in the UK. Choosing to associate with other winning organisations, Sharp (UK) Ltd has sponsored Manchester United Football Club for 15 consecutive years.
